Celia has been painting since she received her first set of oils at age twelve. Since then, she has enjoyed exploring oils, watercolor, pastel and egg tempera.
Celia studied at Massachusetts College of Art, where she received a BFA in Painting and Education. From her studio, Celia teaches both adults and children. Her philosophy of painting, for herself and her students, is to be emotionally connected to what one is painting and to communicate that emotion through the common language of visual representation.
Celia is a member of the Copley Society of Boston, as well as the Concord, Wayland and Wellesley Art Associations. Among her many awards, Celia has received the Yankee Sagendorph Award at the Copley Society. She shows in galleries throughout New England.
When Celia is not painting, she enjoys gardening, soccer, dancing, running and reading.
